Michael, my father and uncle (Sam & Morris) were the last "great owners" of Mrs. Stahls. There were no written recipes for the knishes. The Weingast brothers did it all by memory and personal taste. Dad has not been with us for many years. My uncle may remember what they put into cabbage knishes, but understand that his memory is flexible. Thanks for bringing back good memories for me.

Michael - I grew up in Manhatan Beach brooklyn and ate Mrs. Stahl's Knishes all the time. Do you have thier recipe for Cabbage knishes? I live on Long Island now but had to be in Brighton Beach a few years ago and the first thing i did was go to Stahl's... still were great but I don't think thay are there anymore... do you know?

When I was little we use to have a kosher deli and they had the best knishes. And a cross the street we had a candy store that use to make the best eggcream. I am so glad I have the recipe to pass on to my sons. Thank You

I've been the token goy at so many Jewish celebrations I might as well be one here. Nice site, especially the articles for the Score, most of which I've read there. Congrats...

Michael - Kol hakavod for the newly revised site. It is simultaneously informative, effective, and resourceful.
